Local Anaesthesia – We first numb the area around the affected tooth with an injection. This keeps you comfortable throughout the procedure.
Accessing the Pulp – We drill an opening through the top of the tooth to access the pulp chamber inside containing the nerves and blood vessels.
Pulp Removal – Using specialized dental instruments, we remove the infected or inflamed pulp. This is the inner soft tissue of the tooth.
Cleaning & Shaping – We thoroughly clean and shape the hollow canal space where the pulp was removed using tiny files and irrigation. This disinfects it.
Filling/Sealing the Root – Once cleaned, the entire root canal space is sealed with an inert filling like gutta percha. This prevents recontamination.
Restoration – Finally, we place a temporary filling or crown over the access hole to seal the tooth. This restores the tooth’s structure, shape, and function.
